First – Promoting Creative Play
I noticed that my kids would play with the mini-figures (LEGO® or PLAYMOBIL®) for hours. They would use any other items we had, like blocks from other toys or books, and make really detailed setups. They would create these little worlds and play for hours and hours. A great example is the ‘jail’ they created below. In the very middle are Ernie, Elmo and Cookie Monster. To this day I don’t know what they did to end up in such a high security jail. (I did hear that the kids were shocked to wake up one day and discover that Ernie and friends had pulled off an amazing escape, but that is a story for another day.)
Anyway, so watching this incredible play with whatever they found, I thought, why can’t we print on cardstock and create whatever we want to play with? Answer – You can!
Second – The Excitement of the New
The ‘excitement of the new‘. Do you notice the rush you get when you see a box that has just been delivered on your front porch? My kids get the same rush. They see the box, and ask ‘Dad can we see what’s inside?’ I will tell them that it’s not for them, and it’s something boring like printer ink. The ‘excitement of the new’ is so crazy that they still respond ‘Dad, can we open it anyway? I think everyone has this excitement, it’s seems to be a part of us. The problem is, did you ever notice how short it lasts? We get all excited by the new thing, but it doesn’t take long for the excitement to wear off. The only thing that remains is the price you paid for the item. We want to provide an inexpensive way for families to get the ‘excitement of the new’.
Third – A Family Project
This a project that I, as a father, am managing. But, these products are made by kids, for kids. Everything won’t be polished perfectly. These are my kids ideas, and they have: come up with the ideas, made the shapes, designed the graphics, taken the pictures & videos, and play tested them all extensively! We have had great fun as a family coming up with ideas. We have so, so many more ideas that you already see here.
